Jon H. Hardesty, Ph.D. is the Dean for Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics at the Preston Ridge Campus of Collin College in Frisco, Texas. In this role he has managerial responsibilities for the academic programs in Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Preston Ridge campus, and for the programs in Engineering and Technology across the entire district.
Dr. Hardesty possesses a diverse employment background that includes two postdoctoral fellowships, two years with a merchant bank in which he was instrumental in assisting with business plan development and funding for a startup manufacturing firm, nearly five years as a faculty member teaching chemistry, and he has served in academic administration at Collin College since January 2010.
He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Texas State University-San Marcos where he undertook undergraduate research in polymer science, a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Houston where his dissertation research centered upon computational chemistry, and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
