Deep in the heart of HI-TEC
If you’re coming to HI-TEC (aka the High Impact Technology Exchange Conference) this July 22-24 in Austin, Texas, there are four ways you can say hello to the National Convergence Technology Center (CTC) staff and learn more about our program!
1. Pre-conference workshop
On Monday morning, July 22, at 8:30am, the National CTC will present a “Virtual Laboratory Options, Issues, and Answers” workshop. Leading this look at VMware and NDG labs will be the National CTC’s own Ann Beheler, Collin College’s Julie Hietschold, Orange Coast College’s Bill Saichek, and VMware’s Rick Watson. Come see how to manage the kinds of virtual computer labs that can help your program. But please keep in mind that the general conference registration won’t get you into this session — you’ll have to pay a little extra for this special pre-conference event.
2. Breakout session
On Tuesday afternoon, July 23, at 3:00pm, two of the National CTC’s Leadership Team members will host a 90-minute session entitled “Is Teaching Wireless Networking in Your Future?” Lansing Community College’s Karl Dietrich and Orange Coast College’s Bill Saichek always provide an entertaining presentation. In this session, they’ll look at new wireless curriculum and answer the question posed in their session’s title.
3. Student posters
On Tuesday afternoon, July 23, at 4:30pm, select students from three National CTC schools (Collin College, El Centro College, and University of North Texas) will be one of ten “Student Posters” gathered in the HI-TEC exhibit hall to discuss their respective school projects and answer questions. This is a great way to meet three of our program’s more distinguished students.
4. The booth
And then there’s the exhibit hall, where the National CTC will have a booth. Please stop by. We can answer questions about any of our program elements, especially the specifics on how to join our Convergence College Network, which is always the best way to take advantage of our many resources. You can see us Tuesday, July 23 from 10am-6pm (the big reception is 4:30pm-6:00pm) or Wednesday morning, 8am-12pm.
If you haven’t already registered for HI-TEC, here’s how you can. We can’t wait to see you there!
