Working Connections North was a big hit!
Wow – it’s finally over but Working Connections North was a rousing success. We had 26 attendees with some from as far away as Miami, Florida and White Bear Lake, Minnesota. The instructors were awesome and did a great job.
We had Judy Lipinski an independent corporate trainer that taught “Mobile Application Development,” Kathy O’Neill a certified instructor from EMC who did “Cloud Infrastructure and Services,” and the legendary Sam Bowne doing “Ethical Hacking.” The students gave their instructors and their training a big thumbs up.
Here’s a small sample of the feedback we got:
- While I had no experience with Java or Objective C, the course did a great job of introducing me to the strengths/weaknesses of both iOS and Android development.
- Big picture description of journey from classic data center, through virtualized data center, to current state of implementation of cloud computing and the instructor’s ability to relate the material to real world experience.
- The most valuable component of the training was Sam Bowne and his vast knowledge and enthusiasm. He did an excellent job.
The first night away from the classroom the attendees spent some time together for dinner at Reno’s West. Good food and good conversation was the highlight of the evening.
We had lunch speakers from CompTIA, Orange Coast Community College, Smart Building Services, and EMC who informed the attendees of opportunities for them and their students.
Working Connections North was a great success and a big thank you goes out to everyone who made it possible. The assistance we received from the CTC was invaluable and a shout out to all of those who worked behind the scenes at Lansing Community College to make all of this happen. We couldn’t have done it without you.
