A Taste of Consumer IoT for Your Classroom

Back by popular demand, the “Preparing to Teach the Internet of Things” track will again be offered at Summer Working Connections this July 8-12, 2019.  Last summer, the National Convergence Technology Center (CTC) purchased equipment intended specifically to support the labs and exercises taught at the “Preparing to Teach the Internet of Things” track. That equipment will again be featured this July, albeit it with new, updated lessons and lab exercises.   You can learn more about it here. Plenty of seats are still available.  Email Mark Dempsey if you’d like to register.

Because of the interest in the new equipment and the labs designed by instructor Bill Saichek (Orange Coast College in California), the CTC recorded Bill in his Working Connections classroom giving a handful of lab demonstrations and discussions.  The goal was not only to showcase the Summer Working Connections content, but also to help share Bill’s expertise.  If you have an IT program, we hope these videos might inspire you to consider incorporating internet of things concepts and labs in existing IT classes.
